SPIRITUAL DIRECTION
Spiritual direction is an ancient practice of holy listening and can also be described as spiritual friendship, spiritual attunement, or spiritual companionship. Henri Nouwen said "we need a safe place to bear our souls" and spiritual direction creates a sacred space to be seen, heard, and known. The chronic neglect of our souls is leading to rampant burnout and isolation. Spiritual directors have been trained to come alongside others as they unpack false narratives, explore new spiritual practices, enter transitional seasons, journey through dark nights, or navigate disillusionment. You may desire to deepen your friendship with God through considering new spiritual rhythms like contemplative prayer, solitude, silence, or simplicity. Spiritual direction gives you permission to pay attention to the gentle invitations of the Trinity.
"Spiritual direction is an interpersonal relationship in which we learn how to grow, live, and love in the spiritual life." - Richard Foster
